Hump Day

Halfway through the week. We started out in Greenville SC then drove up to Hickory NC and now we are in Charlotte NC. If you are ever in Charlotte do not stay at the Holiday Inn on Woodlawn & 77. We go to check in at 5:00 and they still do not have the rooms cleaned. Then when we get to our rooms we find out that they only have high speed connections in certain rooms and as you would guess its not the rooms that we were in. Back to the desk time to check out and down the road to the Hampton. How can a hotel not have rooms ready at 5:00 in the afternoon.
We have been up early every morning running 2 to 3 miles, talk about getting the blood flowing. I have lost 65 pounds in the last 11 months only 5 more to go and I'm trying to get it done by the end of the month.
Heading back to Atlanta Thursday afternoon, gonna try to beat the wind and rain from Ivan.

There has To Be A Use For Pinecones

I spent 2 hours cleaning up the yard after the remains of Francis hit Atlanta. I picked up 2 wheelbarrows full of pinecones that were on the ground. Once done I rested and tilted my bald head back to take in the afternoon sun. As I was peering up towards the heavens I noticed that hanging from each and every pinetree in the yard was another dozen wheelbarrows worth of freaking pinecones. Now what in the world do you do with pinecones. I started throwing them one by one into the woods, that was fun for about 2 minutes. Then I thought I would make the wife a wreath with them. That would be a good idea but I would have to make two of them so we would have a matching set. I thought about throwing them at the squirels (Squirels are nothing but rats with a cute uniform) because they are always throwing crap at me when they are perched in the pinetrees, but I could not find any squirels. I ended up dumping them into the backyard burn pile.

Traffic Sucks

I flew into Raleigh, NC, late Monday night and I am now sitting in Hunt Valley, MD.
I have gone 400 miles in a rental car and spent almost 9 hours sitting in said rental car. Traffic around Washington DC sucks............. If anyone thinks Atlanta traffic is bad just spend a few days up here. If you want to go into DC do it after 10:00 am and leave before 3:00pm otherwise your stuck in traffic... We spent the morning in our DC branch with a beautiful view of the Lincoln, Jefferson & Washington Monuments. Its seems like each time I am in Baltimore, MD it's either raining or snowing. I guess we are catching the last bit of Hurricane Francis.
