Yet Another Life Tip

Car Hits, Kills SC Man 'Relieving Himself' In Road

Wednesday, November 26, 2008

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Authorities say a South Carolina man was standing in the middle of a road to relieve himself when
he was fatally struck by a passing car.
Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore tells the Anderson Independent-Mail that 28-year-old Markie Hood died shortly
after he was hit around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday.
Shore said Hood and two friends were driving home after drinking at a Pendleton bar when the driver let Hood and his
friend out on U.S. 76 near Interstate 85 to relieve themselves and drove away.
The second man left the scene after Hood was hit. Shore said he nearly hit that man as he drove to the scene.
Troopers said they have no plans to charge the driver of the passing car. "LINK"

Two life tips in the same week.
This tip is easy "Don't pee in any place that doesn't have a door and don't pee any place that has a traffic light".
Of course you know as well as I do that the key to this article is the phrase "after drinking at a Pendleton bar"

Men Shoot Themselves in Tattoo Attempt

Monday, December 31, 2007

Getting a tattoo can be a painful proposition, but usually it's just the needle you have to worry about. Two men trying to trace a loaded .357-caliber Magnum as a pattern for a tattoo accidentally shot themselves, the Otero County Sheriff's Department said Monday.

Robert Glasser and Joey Acosta, both 22, were treated at a hospital in El Paso, Texas, after the shooting Thursday evening in nearby Chaparral.

Authorities said Glasser was struck in the hand when the gun accidentally went off, and Acosta was hit in the left arm. Their injuries were not life-threatening, authorities said. "LINK"

and the gene pool continues to keep itself clean. Getting a tattoo requires much thought and dedication and these two proved it. I imagine they were using a crayon to do the tracing (nothing with a sharp point) and you just know that alcohol was involved.

Picture/Story Of The Week

DUI Suspect Arrested Wearing "I'm A Drunk" Shirt
POSTED: 8:07 am EDT August 3, 2007
UPDATED: 1:23 pm EDT August 3, 2007

A Florida woman arrested on charges of drunken driving for a second time since April was taken into custody wearing a T-shirt that read, "I'm not an alcoholic, I'm a drunk -- Alcoholics go to meetings."The T-shirt with the drinking message was visible in Amanda Lynn Bailey's mug shot Wednesday.Bailey, 41, was charged with driving under the influence and driving with a canceled, suspended or revoked license. She posted $750 bond and was released.Police did not capture any T-shirt messages during her April arrest for drunken driving, the report said. "LINK"

Un-freaking-believable there's not much of a chance of talking yourself out a D.U.I while you're wearing that shirt. Two D.U.I arrests in the last 6 months this chick needs to move to Hollywood and hang out with Lindsay or Nicole. And what's with a $750.00 bail, can you say habitual?
Maybe she can show up for court wearing a "The court finds probable cause..... to have another martini" shirt. "LINK"

Police: Unlicensed Dentist Used Box Cutters

POSTED: 8:14 am EDT May 2, 2007 UPDATED: 5:41 pm EDT May 2, 2007

CARROLLTON, Ga. -- Authorities have arrested an illegal immigrant on charges that he ran an unlicensed dental practice out of his home in Carrollton. Ernesto Estrado is accused of performing procedures on hundreds of illegal immigrants who were too afraid to go to a licensed dentist. Authorities say the man used pliers, box cutters and etching blades he bought at a hardware store to pull teeth, fill cavities and create dentures. Authorities searched his home and found prescription painkillers, hypodermic needles and a ledger that detailed cash payments from more than 100 people. Estrada is being held without bond in the Carroll County Jail. Channel 2 will have a live update on Channel 2 Action News at 6.

I think I might have come close to "Richmanwisco" with this one. No matter how much pain I was in I don't think I'd let anyone in my mouth with a box cutter. Besides Ernesto could have easily made more money bilking the government and the insurance companies than taking cash from a few immigrants.
And what does this have to say about all the dentists that actually spent the time & money to go through dental school, opened an office and took out a Yellow Book add, when all Ernesto had to do was move his sofa aside and put a higher wattage bulb in the chandelier.

Give Me Just The Faxs

Prison releases felon after getting phony fax
Typo-filled missive sent from grocery store said court ‘demanded’ release

Updated: 10:36 p.m. ET April 21, 2007

HICKMAN, Ky. - Officials released a prisoner from a state facility after receiving a phony fax that ordered the man be freed, and didn’t catch the mistake for nearly two weeks.

Timothy Rouse, 19, is charged with beating an elderly western Kentucky man and was at the Kentucky Correctional & Psychiatric Center in La Grange for a mental evaluation. He was released from that facility on April 6 after officials received the fake court order.

It contained grammatical errors, was not typed on letterhead and was faxed from a local grocery store. The fax falsely claimed that the Kentucky Supreme Court “demanded” Rouse be released.

Lexington police arrested Rouse at his mother’s home Thursday evening.

“It’s outrageous that it happened,” Fulton County Attorney Rick Major said. “I’m just glad nobody got hurt because he’s dangerous.”

Police are still investigating who faxed it.

Attorney Carlos Moran, who is representing Rouse, declined to comment.

Prison officials did not notice that the fax came from the grocery store because policies in place did not require checking the source of a faxed order, said the LaGrange facility’s director, Greg Taylor.

“It’s not part of a routine check, but certainly, in hindsight, that would perhaps have caused somebody to ask a question,” he said. He added that misspellings on orders are common.

What a great scam. If I had just thought of this when I was in High School, fax in a quick "Please excuse my son from school today, no this week".
And to think that they didn't have to check the source of a faxed order, the government at it's finest.
Beside I knew typos and spelling really didn't matter in the real world.

You Need A License Too

....drive a car, get married and even catch a fish, but you don't need a license to be a parent or even a grandparent.

Baby put into X-ray machine at Los Angeles airport

LOS ANGELES, Dec 20 (Reuters Life!) - A woman sent her one-month-old grandson through
an X-ray machine at Los Angeles International Airport, security officials said on Wednesday.

The woman, who spoke little English and was traveling to Mexico, put the infant in a plastic bin used to hold loose carry-on items for security scanning at the busy airport on Saturday morning.

Security screeners saw the baby as it started to pass through, pulled the bin out, and immediately sought medical assistance for the child, Transportation Security Administration spokesman Nico Melendez said. "LINK"

I could just see the TSA employee watching the monitor: shoes, purse, laptop, carry on, baby, shoes..... reverse the belt..... shoes, baby. "Attention, Attention I need a supervisor"

Two things I must ask:
1) How come Non-English speaking Grandma didn't notice that she was the only one, THE ONLY ONE placing an infant, no make that her grandchild in the plastic bin. Did this women think to herself "Look I'm the only one following the rules"
2) Why did no one in line reach over and place their hands on Non-English speaking Grandma's shoulders and say or yell "What in the hell are you doing?" then as they get the I don't understand your English look just grab the baby. Have we as a society become so jaded that we can't intervene when someone is being stupid.

Airport officials said it was an innocent mistake by an inexperienced traveler This had nothing to do with someone being an inexperienced traveler it had everything to do with someone being stupid. And I'm not so sure about the inexperienced traveler part cause she traveled from Mexico to here.....

Still MoreProof That Drugs Can Kill

Woman shoots self after mistaking pistol for cigarette lighter

LAVONIA, Ga. - A woman staying at a northeast Georgia motel this week shot herself while trying to light a cigarette with a pistol she mistook for a cigarette lighter, police said. Police said Olivia Hutcherson, 21, of Anderson, S.C., had been arrested for fighting at a Waffle House shortly before she shot herself in the hand with a .22-caliber pistol she had tried to use to light a cigarette. Lavonia Police Chief Randy Shirley said Hutcherson was staying with two other people at a Best Western motel at about 6 a.m. on Sunday. When she reached onto a nightstand for what she thought was a lighter, she instead grabbed a pistol owned by Bobby Brown, 56, of Royston, Shirley said. About 90 minutes earlier, Hutcherson had slapped a man in the face three times after she said he touched her inappropriately, according to police reports. Five witnesses told police they never saw the man touch her. "She stated that someone had grabbed her from behind and she turned and struck the first person she saw," an officer wrote in the report.

Here we go go again kiddies. Drugs are just bad for you.
Lets examine this story more in depth because at first read there are key points that should just leap off the screen at you.
arrested for fighting at a Waffle House -this should be the first clue that it's going to be a long night.
to light a cigarette - I'm not 100% convinced that she was trying to light a cigarette. Maybe she was lighting some that rhymes with crack pipe, maybe.
Best Western - When have you ever read a feel good news story that mentions Best Western.
pistol owned by Bobby Brown - Hasn't this girl ever seen "Being Bobby Brown"? After what Whitney did to Bobby's career you just know this guy on the edge and probably packing some heat.
slapped a man in the face three times - Now here is a girl that simply put knows how to communicate.

Deputies: Man on crack when alligator attacked
Deputies rescue Polk man from jaws of alligator.

LAKELAND -- A man who was attacked by an alligator this morning was naked and smoking crack at the time, Polk County deputies who rescued him said today. The alligator had the man in his jaws when deputies arrived at Lake Parker in Lakeland about 4 a.m. today. They were called by nearby residents who reported hearing a man yelling for help. The first deputy on the scene was unable to free the man, Adrian J. Apgar, from the alligator's mouth. It wasn't until 3 or 4 of them were in chest-deep water that they were able to pull him free after the tug-of-war. Apgar, 45, of Polk City, suffered a broken arm, partially amputated left arm and trauma to his left leg. Doctors are trying to reattach the arm at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, where was listed in critical condition. "We don't know whether he'll make it or not," said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd. According to a news release from the Polk Sheriff's Office, "The very dark conditions and risk of injuring the victim made shooting the alligator impossible, leaving deputies to contend with their own safety after becoming exhausted in waist deep mud. All deputies made it out of the water without injury." Read More "LINK"
